— Our Story

Five voices.
One fire.

Olarianova is a family of five — father Babatunde, mother Adunola, and their three children — living and creating in Lagos, Nigeria. Their ceramics are not made in a sanitized studio. They emerge from the heat of Lagos itself.

Each piece begins as raw clay on Babatunde's wheel, then passes through Adunola's surrealist painted vision — inspired by Yoruba orishas, urban Lagos life, and a deep artistic dialogue with African heritage and contemporary global art.

How We Work

From clay
to
collector.

1
Earth — The Clay
Local Lagos stoneware clay, mixed and wedged by hand. Each batch is unique to the season's earth.
2
Form — The Wheel
Babatunde centers and throws each piece. No two forms are identical. The clay decides much of the shape.
3
Vision — The Painting
Adunola's raw brushwork brings surrealist faces, ancestral text, and symbolic marks onto the bisque-fired surface.
4
Fire — The Kiln
Two firings at 1,260°C. The glaze fuses with the clay. The painting becomes permanent. The piece is born.
